200 YEARS OF METHODISM IN STOKE MANDEVILLE

The foundation stone of the new building was laid on Wesley Day 1958.
so it was appropriate that we celebrated on Wesley Day 2015
THE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS.
The celebrations started on Saturday 23 rd. May with a Barn Dance to live music provided by 'Bodgers Wood' from Chinnor.
As young and old took to the floor it took all the skill and experience of the caller to maintain some semblance of good order. Although it was not a very warm evening the soft drinks bar did a good trade and kept the dancers well hydrated and everyone, including the spectators, thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment.
The evening was well supported by church members, folk from the village and around the Circuit. Buffet style refreshments were provided halfway through the evening and was also a Raffle and soft drinks bar which raised £75 for local charities and Action for Children. A good time was had by all.

WESLEY DAY 24th.MAY 2015 — OUR ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY
The Anniversary Services were led by Rev. Keith Salter in the morning and Rev.Jim Gorringe in the evening.
The themes also celebrated Wesley Day and Pentecost.
Both services were attended by friends from other churches in our Circuit and, at the evening service, scrumptious chocolates were distributed and eaten, a gift from a former minister, Rev. Michael Gilyead, and his wife Joyce. Celebration cards were received from other circuits and read to the congregation.

Before the evening service, a Faith Tea was held at which we cut a beautiful celebration birthday cake, baked by our friend, Jan Unsworth.

At the Faith Tea, it was a real pleasure to see some of our frailer friends who can no longer attend church on a regular basis.

The Friday Lunch Team excelled themselves with this EASTER SPECIAL which included an EASTER BONNET Competition which was judged in a totally subjective way by Rev Keith Edwards — murmurs of 'We was robbed!' (good natured of course) could be heard. As always the lunch was well supported by the local community and they scooped the valuable prize of a chocolate Easter...

Easter Day 2

At 6-00am on Easter Sunday, the resurrection of Jesus was celebrated by members of the various churches in Princes Risborough coming together for a sunrise act of worship. The group met at the top of Whiteleaf Cross which overlooks Princes Risborough. This is a most moving and joyful way of celebrating Easter. Following the short service everyone enjoyed hot...

The Wesley Centre As you will know by now the North Marston Wesleyan Church has had a make over and has become "The Wesley Centre" an exciting new era for this one hundred and fifty year old building which has experienced many small alterations down the years but none so radical as those over the past few months. The floor has been raised to facilitate easy access...
