FAIRTRADE IN 2017 — OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU AND OTHERS

Our Fairtrade Circuit status conveys responsibilities for each of us as individuals and as worshipping communities within the Circuit.
Responsibilities that give life, purpose, wellbeing and hope to individuals, families and communities. We may never meet these people but this is also applies to many of the things to which we contribute, such a blood donations and Charity appeals.

What FAIRTRADE opportunities will be available to you in 2017?

VISITING A NATIONAL TRUST PROPERTY?
If you do you will now have the opportunity to drink Fairtrade tea and coffee as well as choose other Fairtrade products from their restaurants/ coffee shops following their commitment to use them.
DOING YOUR WEEKLY SHOPPING:
Look out for a Fairtrade symbol, visit Fairtrade websites (eg Traidcraft , Ethical superstore etc) or contact Rod Thorpe (Fairtrade contact).
Household purchases: if you are looking to add to or replace household furnishings why not check out what Fairtrade options are available? More info from www.myakka.co.uk or www.fairtradefurniture.co.uk.

  • Personal purchases: Within the Fairtrade range you can buy clothing, jewellery, flowers and gold.
    If you wish to check out how ethical items or lines might, be visit www.ethicalconsumer.org.
    Seasonal Catalogue: available from late August 2017 the Autumn/ Christmas catalogue gives the opportunity to buy items to support producers and trade their way out of poverty.

    SUMMER IS A TIME FOR TAKING HOLIDAYS
    Traidcraft provide a range of 'Meet the people tours', involving four different activity levels. The tours offer opportunities to see producers alongside other tourist visits. Tours take place throughout the year to various destinations including Africa, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal, Cuba, Chile, Peru and Costa Rica.
    Why not take a look and combine your holiday with meeting producers of Fair trade goods?
