Hospital Chaplaincy needs volunteer visitors

At Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust we have an established multi-denominational Chaplaincy team who provide spiritual, pastoral and religious care to patients, their loved ones and members of staff. We visit the Wards to support and listen to people of all faiths and none, with different religions or philosophies of life. Our department is valued and those who experience our service tell us they are helped to gain insight and perspective by talking things through with one of our team.

Volunteers play an important role in our Chaplaincy Team and work across all departments. We are looking to recruit more Chaplaincy Ward Visitors to all of our hospitals as well as Florence Nightingale Hospice. We normally ask potential volunteers to attend a Training Course held in the hospital for a morning or afternoon over 6 weeks, and it is important that all Chaplaincy Team members are actively involved with their own community of faith or philosophy as references will be taken.

If you are interested in joining us we would love to hear from you, so please contact us at the Chaplaincy Department in Stoke Mandeville Hospital on 01296 316675 and speak to one of the Chaplains.

We look forward to hearing from you,

The Chaplains:
Rev'd Christopher Mattock, Rev'd Carole Hough, Pastor Stefan Tiran, Rev'd Angela Thompson.
