Church Ride and Stride 2011
Church Stride and Ride September 2011 - final stop at Long Marston Parish Church.
4 intrepid cyclists aged between 7 and 40+ left Cheddington Methodist Church at 10.30am on Saturday September 10th to participate in the national Church Stride and Ride, held annually to raise funds for individual churches and the Historic Churches Conservation Trust. Our Cheddington group cycled 16 miles and visited 8 churches. Hospitality provided by many of the churches was first rate, and sustained our party and it's back-up drivers very well for the 3 hour excursion. We found that roads which seem flat by car are actually quite steep, but the canal towpaths gave welcome relief from gradients and traffic. It proved a most enjoyable event, and all the participants plus friends want to 'do it again next year'. Many thanks to the riders and their supporters. Sponsorship raised £60, which was not bad given the last minute decision to take part! Next year we shall start planning earlier!
Macmillan Coffee Morning

Held on September 30th in the Chapel hall. This was very well attended; the cakes were wonderful, and receipts, including a raffle and bric a brac stall totalled about £450. Our chapel premises are used by many village groups and this proved as ever a real social get together as well as raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.
