A message from Rev Richard Atkinson

A THOUGHT! (Posted 11th April)
If you are a technophobe please do not be put off by the next sentence, I am a fully
qualified Luddite so understand where you are coming from.
In the spirit of trying to keep us connected can I suggest the idea of a virtual fellowship
group (or more if there is demand).
My thought for the first one would be that I would select one of the great Easter hymns
and we would use this as a starting point of a conversation about how we understand
Easter
How would it happen?
If you express an interest I would send you a request to join a meeting.
Using the guides on the email you would then need to install Zoom (unless you already
have it). It is free and the instructions are simple to follow
Then on the day in question from the home page you press join a meeting and it will ask
you install the code which would have been contained in the invitation email
Then if you have video and microphone you can see and hear
If you just have a microphone you will be able to hear
If you have neither you will still be able to listen
I am happy to do trial runs to help people connect in advance
If anyone is interested can you please let me know and I will set things up
Blessings
Richard

The Friday Food project at Aylesbury Methodist Church

PROJECT SUSPENDED DURING COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

A new project, led by Karen Crussell and Ken Harris, is due to start at AMC on Friday 1st November, aimed at providing a hot meal for homeless and other vulnerable people. It needs 4 volunteers each Friday evening (from about 5 or 5.30 p.m. until 7.30 p.m.) to run the project, and we are currently looking for two or three more people to join the team, so that we can have a rota of people helping. If you might be interested in helping out, then please contact Karen Crussell (details below) or come along to a training session, which will take place on Thursday 24 October at 6.30pm in the AMC Welcome Space.

Karen Warner, manager of the Aylesbury Homeless Action Group ,will be leading the training which will last until 8pm (at the latest). There will be an opportunity to ask questions and learn from the experiences of Winter Warmth and the two other "hot meals for rough sleepers" projects currently operational in Aylesbury Town Centre.

It is vital that we do not leave this part of our ministry to others — please read and consider prayerfully in what way you can help.
Could you be one of our volunteer stewards? Please let Karen Crussell know ASAP (07762 876544) or turn up for the training on Thursday.

Thanks
