UKRAINE CRISIS – Hosting and Help

Message from Richard – Hosting

One or two people have been asking about responding to the Ukraine crisis. In particular I have received advice from Methodist Church House about folk who want to offer accommodation to Ukrainian refugees. This says: Those who registered to host a refugee as individuals will receive an email informing them of the next steps. We are yet to see the content of that letter but it is likely/possible that it will say – 'speak to your local church/faith leader if you would like help in the match process'.

It is still very vague, but if folk have registered or would like to know more before doing so, please talk to me and I will pass on what I have received. I suspect that once refugees start to arrive locally there may be requests for help in terms of language support, clothes, toys etc.
I will keep you posted but we are having to deal with what some have called 'a slow government response'!

Thanks, Richard.

HELP

You will all be aware of the many appeals for help in this crisis, and will have responded to appeals to provide all manner of supplies which have been taken to the Ukraine by lorry, from various centres around the Vale of Aylesbury.
The variousUkraine Disaster Funds (DEC, RED CROSS etc)still need support, but do make sure they are genuine, you can see the appeal from All We Can (AWC).
Please respond in any way you can and keep the situation in your prayers.
