Paul's Letter to Philippians

Dear Friends

Are you ready for a fantastic journey? A story of sorts
which will grab your attention, make you think and express something of what faith
is all about? Are you ready to distil the wisdom of a lovely letter?

With support and agreement of our Circuit preachers, we are
joining in the Methodist Connexional Bible Month programme.

This means that at some point over the next few months that
in each church there will be a four week preaching series focused on Paul’s
letters to the Philippians.  Many believe
this to be one of the most inspiring pieces written by Paul as, even though he
is in prison, it is full of joy with some fantastic images and phrases.

The letter is built around the words of Philippians 2:6-11
which could be an ancient hymn or some form of credal statement. It feels like
Paulis using words which would be familiar to the local congregation. It is
written in a time of persecution yet has a tremendous positivity.

Hopefully we will all get excited by the message of
Philippians
