Monday 1st to Friday 5 July 2024

You are invited to join us (with Rev Heegon Moon) for our 2024 holiday to East Sussex. We will be staying at the delightful centrally-situated Afton Hotel in Eastbourne.

Set in an enviable position on Grand Parade in Eastbourne, the Afton is a traditional seaside hotel with enviable panoramic sea views just across from the beach. Many of you will know the hotel; it is opposite the pier.

Cost of the holiday is £595.00 per person, based on a minimum number of 25 people joining the holiday. There is no single room supplement. However, we are limited to only 15 single rooms and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis as we receive your deposit and Booking Form ( See .pdf attached). Further single rooms may be available but they will incur a supplement.
Please advise any Dietary or Mobility Needs in the Special Requirements section on the Booking Form. The rooms are arranged on three floors, with lift accessibility to all.
A deposit of £60.00 per person will be required to secure your room. Optional insurance is also available. Visit www.normanallen.b2ctravel.co.uk (use link on Booking Form)
Final payments will be required by Monday 29 April and we will collect these at our pre-tour get-together which has been arranged for 11 am on Monday 29 April at Christchurch, Thame.
All cheque payments are to be written out to: Norman Allen Group Travel Ltd.

Itinerary

Day 1: Monday 1st July 2024
Board our tour coach from your chosen departure point, and we will make our way to Eastbourne. We will make a lunch stop on the way but will arrive at The Afton Hotel mid-afternoon. There will be plenty of time to enjoy a walk on The Esplanade before dinner.

Day 2: Tuesday – Rye and Hastings
We will make our way east to delightful Rye this morning, with free time to explore this old and interesting town. Then we head back to the coast and have free time in Hastings, another popular south coast town with plenty of history and of course a chance to walk along the seafront. We return to Eastbourne later in the afternoon.

Day 3: Wednesday – Bluebell Railway (Cost is £25 at the time of writing for an all-day Rover ticket. This money will be collected at the pre-tour get-together on Monday 29 April, paid in cash please.)
Today we head to the Sheffield Park Station, which is the southern terminus of the Bluebell Railway. We have purchased for you an all-day Rover ticket, which allows you to get on and off trains at your leisure. At Sheffield Park Station there is a museum, shop, restaurant and Steam works displays.

The next station is Horsted Keynes which was once a junction Station with multi-platforms and it is interesting to sit and watch the trains go by. There is a 2nd hand shop here, plus the carriage and wagons workshop.

Kingscote station is small so I would recommend you travel through to East Grinstead, where it is only a 5-minute walk into the town centre. East Grinstead is a well-presented town.

Alternatively, some guests may wish to visit Sheffield Park Gardens, which is a National Trust property and is approximately a 20-minute walk from Sheffield Park Station.

Day 4: Thursday – Paradise Park and Lewes
This morning our first visit is Paradise Park which has a Water Garden (there is a charge), café, shop and Garden Centre. We then make the short journey to Lewes, the county town of East Sussex. Time for lunch here before we make our way back to Eastbourne, so you can enjoy the sea front again on your last day of the holiday.

Day 5: Friday 5th July
I'm afraid we head for home today, making a lunch stop on the way. We expect to be back in the local area later in the afternoon.

As well as being a relaxing time away, our Circuit Holidays give an opportunity to meet new friends in our extended Circuit. On this holiday we praise God each morning with a short devotional time. For those who choose, we also enjoy fellowship together in the evenings.
