Wingrave's morning service on Sunday 15th December took the form of a Nativity and Carol service. Those attending were encouraged to come along dressed as characters from the Nativity story.
On the day several of us turned up looking somewhat sheepish (forgive the pun!) only to find that most members of the congregation had taken up the request.
The service, planned by Jenny Marriner-Kyle and led by Donna Broadbent – Kelly, was enjoyed by those of all ages.
We talked about the different attributes of the nativity characters that perhaps we would like to have as well...
the willingness of Mary
the trust of Joseph
the hope of the shepherds
the joy and confidence of the angels to tell others of Jesus
and the boldness of the wise men to take risks...
